Pixar's UP

Madison M. | August 08, 2009 | Comments (4)

Okay so first things first, me and Kelsey decided that we are going to do a whole lot less summary and a whole lot more review. Okey Doke, here goes.

Brief Summary:

Up is a Pixar movie about a 78 year old man named Carl who's life seems to have past him by. Nothing seems left of his life when his long loved wife dies, and everything he ever dreamed of is now impossible. Well, not everything. The unexpected of unexpected happens, and he and an over-excited Wilderness Explorer named Russell, fly away in a house lifted by balloons. Carried to a lost world, they discover lost species, an evil scientist, and a talking dog. Will they ever return to their world? Will they ever want to?

Characters:

Russell:

Russell is my favorite character because he is always so enthusiastic about everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. Attempting to earn as many Wilderness Explorer badges as possible, and creating chaos, he would seem like any other 7 year old, and he was until, well, you know what happened.

Carl:

Carl isn't exactly your average 78 year old geezer. He's humorous, creative, well mainly humorous. What I love about Carl is that the beginning of the movie shows his past, which adds so much entertainment and depth to his future. He always had dreamed of a new life, but what he got was SO not what he expected.

Story:

UP is one of those movies where i couldn't even tell you what it was about. Which, don't get me wrong, is not at all bad when it is put together correctly, and is understandable at an early age. Which would be another thing that's admirable. It's acceptable with every age range. It has an overall outline for the younger children to appreciate, and humor which is understandable and of course, funny. Yet, for those who are in the older years who pay attention more, it makes the movie even better, because it provides things you can relate to, or have dream of or thought about as well.

Overall Review:

I would recommend this movie to anyone I know because it's enjoyable for all ages, and it has good morals and examples for the younger ones. Personally me, I would rather pay money to go see this than a full-out action adventure movie. I highly recommend this movie, and trust me, it's worth you time.
