Midnighters
Midnighters:
Summary:
In the hardly populated town of Bixby, Arizona things aren't exactly your average at twelve o'clock midnight. Jessica Day, the new resident in town, finds that out shockingly soon as the is forced to learn about the secret world of midnight. For specific people, such as Jessica, Melissa, Rex, and Desdemona that are born at exactly midnight, there are twenty five hours in a day. Each night at exactly midnight, time freezes and the world turns a silent blue. In this world, darklings and other dangers exist. In Midnighters, the gang must find their way through the midnight hour in order to save midnight and find Jessica's talent.
Review:
Personally, this is one of my favorite re-readable books because no matter how well you know the story, it always captures you. The story is incredibly creative and well written and a great read for anyone interested.
Story:
UNBELIEVABLY creative. Never in my life would I think up such a story, and not only the factor of the secret hour, the talent in each child and the perspective given from each individual. You can see the story from every possible angle, enabling you to understand the story.
Writing:
Scott Westerfeld is most certainly a talented author. The ideas and creativity in each story is truly incredible. The reading level difficulty isn't very challenging, but it's definitely worth a couple hours of your time.
Overall review:
This truly is one of my favorite books. I would highly recommend it for any age group over the age of 9! Its well worth it and I'm sure anyone who picks it up will thoroughly enjoy it.
