Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets J.K. Rowling Ok so now that I've already done the whole "This is who he is and his past and who these people are, etc." This summary should be a WHOLE lot shorter. YAY!!! Oh and excuse me if I leave out details, it's a complicate book. This book is about Harry Potter, continuing his school year at Hogwarts, and the exciting events that occur. So since the last book when Voldemort came back, only Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Dumbeldor know about it. Once again thinking he is dead, they attempt to forget the horrible day. The year progresses without much happening, all the while Harry's skills are improving. All seems normal until one day when he and Malfoy are having a wizard duel, Malfoy cheats by throwing a snake at Harry, and somehow he can talk to snakes, Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets(there's a special word for it, it's like pasteltounge, but I don't know how to spell it so...) so he saves his life and the snake is destroyed. Yay. Once that happened, Harry seems to be able to hear voices throughout the year, and the school begins to get threatening messages from an unknown source saying that the Chamber of Secrets has been opened. After that, to make things even worse, certain people and things are being petrified through reflections. Finally, Harry, Ron, and Hermione realize that the one thing that possess those powers is a Basilisk. A Basilisk is a HUGE snake that has the power to petrify you if you look it in the eye, the one known place it is said to exist is the Chamber of Secrets. So the three teenagers must find a way to get the the chamber, kill the snake, and do all this without being killed. Then things get even more complicated when Harry finds a diary that used to belong to Tom Riddle. Taking the journal with him on to the great fight with the Basilisk, he goes to attempt to kill the great snake. So there's a big fight, he kills the snake with a sword Dumbeldor gave him, and it turns out the Tom Riddle's spirit is hiding in the diary, so he destroys it with a Basilisk fang. Oh and did I mention that Tom Riddle is Actually Voldemort? So ya, once again villain defeated, things continue as normal.... Huzzah!

Review:

I love this book, as do I with every other Harry Potter book, but this one is one of my favorites. I particularly love this book, because, well one, I love snakes, two, it seems to have kind of an eeriness in it, and three, it just happens that its a REALLY GOOD BOOK! There's really not much more I can say other than explain why. It's well written, it keeps you fascinated, it includes way more than you would expect, and the story is very intriguing. I really love this book, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who reads. No matter what kind of books you like, you'll like this one.
