Madison M. | December 19, 2009 | Comments (4)

Summary:

"Avatar" tells the story of a crippled marine named John sent to a base on a foreign planet, his mission to gain the aliens trust. On a planet with gun reflecting predators around every corner, and only aliens to guide his way, he learns to Avatar Movietrust his non-crippled avatar body and learn the way of the natives. Once he learns that his marine bass tends to destroy their home and race, John must chose a side to fight and maybe die for. Which will he choose? His new-called home, or a bunch of murderers?

Review:

LOVED IT. To be upfront, it was the best 3-D movie I've ever seen. It was pretty long, but oh man was it worth it! I Thought it was brilliant! The semi-animation they used for the planet's surroundings and the creatures was just beyond incredible. Something that really drew my attention was the fact that they didn't film the whole movie around the fact that it would be seen in 3-D, they just made what was already awesome even better.

Recommendation:

Obviously, you probably already picked up that I would COMPLETELY recommend this movie, the problem is the age. I probably wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone below the age of ten. There were these two kids that were like 8 and 9 and the entire movie they were commenting about the 3-D and squealing anytime something interesting happened. They drove me NUTS. Plus, if I may draw the attention to this small fact, it is rated PG-13. I was seeing kids that were like 7 and 8, don't take your kids to a movie if they are too young!

Story:

Incredible. Beyond creative, and turning an organization that americans are supposed to trust into mass murderers was pretty interesting to watch. There's really not much more I can say other then you just have to see it.

Overall:

See it. It pretty much includes everything, sci-fi, romance, suspense, thrill, there really isn't much to say other then it was an incredible movie and it's definitely a MUST SEE.

Which is better: Avatar or Twilight?

I have to say, it was a great movie. The whole "linking to your avatar" concept it neat, plus I enjoyed the characters. There was humor in all the right places, romance, action, the whole 9 yards, no? However, kinda funny how the humans always turn out being the power hungry, maniacs that want to destroy <insert special something here>. I've seen the plot done before (i.e. bad guy [otherwise known as the American] falls in love with the foreign princess and switches sides). Pocahontas anyone?

Basically, I agree.
